I have known Carina for a long time and have always admired her unique, colourful style. She has written several books in the past years but I think her latest book may be my favourite! It’s called Mandalas to Embroider. Kaleidoscope stitching in a hoop. I’m not a mandala-type-of-person per se, but these circular designs are just irresistible!
Maisie admires the designs
Carina's book features a bunch of small designs (about 2 inches!) and several larger designs which measure about 5.5 inch. There are colour and stitch suggestions and all designs can be made with just 10 different stitches, which makes this book very suitable for beginning embroiderers.
In the back of the book you'll find iron-on transfers for all the designs. I tried them out and they transfer beautifully. Strange as it may sound, I do think beginning embroiderers might be better off giving the larger designs a try first, as the small ones are really tiny and probably require some experience to stitch neatly!
