While my focus in the past few weeks has mainly been aimed at the Cat Portrait Stitch Along (more about that later this week) I also managed to finish a new pattern called Fireside Fox! Fireside Fox made his first appearance in Australian Homespun magazine a few months ago and now it's time to for him to join Party Bear and Spring Bear, the Princess and all the others in my shop.
It's a super cozy pattern and you can almost imagine this friendly fox in your home, warming himself with a cuppa next to the fireside (or central heating in my house). I really like his scarf, I used a chain stitch for a 'knit-effect' and different shades to give it depth.
There's a tiny bit of applique involved for the rug but it's not very complicated. If you can use an iron and do the blanket stitch you'll be fine. :) But just to be sure I've included two versions of the design in the pattern: one for embroidery 'only' and one for embroidery + applique. As usual the pattern has a stitch and colour key, as well as tips for embroidery and applique.
