If you're a quilter you've probably heard of the Splendid Sampler quilt along hosted by Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson. It's a huge sew a long project based around the Splendid Sampler book which has 100 block designs. So I was thrilled when Pat and Jane asked me to join the team and design a block for The Splendid Sampler II! I can't tell you too much about my design at the moment but obviously will fill you in later.
I have a soft spot for samplers (embroidery and otherwise) so I'm excited to sew along with many other quilters around the world. Perhaps not all the blocks and maybe I'll mix in a few blocks from the first Splendid Sampler... Because that's the beauty of this event: you can make the project your own, using the book and QAL as starting point and source of inspiration. No two Splendid Sampler Quilts will be the same. You can make a small quilt, a huge quilt, something in between, choose blocks and techniques you like, add sashing, or not, use up your scrap stash, use lots of colours or just a few. You get the idea. :)
The book is scheduled to be released this fall (you can already pre-order it on Amazon, no affiliate link) but you don't have to wait very long because the Quilt Along already starts mid June with 20 free blocks from the book!. You can find all the information about the book and QAL on the Splendid Sampler Website.
